Hurricane Irma Special Update 34

95% Restored

An Update from Walt Gill, Asst Director of Lake Worth Electric Utilities

Post Day 6 an awesome day!

Lake Worth Electric Utility was able to energize the last of the system circuits, that means that out of the 41 circuits within the Lake Worth Electric Territory, all main circuits are now up and running. Approximately 95% of the system has been restored, which equates to 25,692 customers. This leaves 1353 customer outages remaining. We are in the final stages of restoration. For those of you that are still without power, please continue to be patient, we are on our way. Our Tree Crews have also been busy over the last six days as well and will continue to clean vegetation from right of ways so that we have access to you.

Tomorrow (Sunday 9/17/17, Post Day 7), all crews will be out hitting the streets again, continuing to restore power and beginning final clean ups of the Lake Worth Electric System.

We caught up this afternoon with Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell who gave us a post-storm update. The Vice Mayor has spent much of the restoration walking the City helping reach individuals without power and get their addresses registered with SysOps. His hard work has helped multiple people get their power restored. If you have a neighbor tonight who you see is still without power, we urge you to follow your Vice Mayor's example and visit them and offer to help them get registered with SysOps either by phone (561.586.1695) or by filling in the online form here.

We are very pleased to announce that as of 5:15pm today 41 out of 41 circuits are now open and 95% power restoration has been achieved. At this time the big fixes are complete and we are moving rapidly into the final phase of power restoration. If you are still without power our crews are coming and all crews remain out in the field working to reach each and every resident that has lost their power. Please check the advice below to ensure you can fully alert us to your situation.
